No charge for collection. We reply the same working day with a time slot and, where equipment has resale value, what we will pay for it.

Computer disposal London businesses can book the same day

Computer disposal in London costs you nothing, has no minimum quantity, and comes with the paperwork your auditor will ask for.

Most of the machines we collect are not broken. They are three or four years old, they came off a refresh, and they have been sitting in a store cupboard or under a spare desk since. That matters, because a working desktop with a healthy drive has resale value — and the difference between a disposal company that grades your equipment and one that weighs it is money that should be coming back to you.

We collect, test, grade, erase and either remarket or recycle. You get certificates either way. Where equipment is worth something, you get paid.

Computer disposal London firms actually use tends to fall into three shapes: a cupboard clear-out after a refresh, a department move, or a whole floor coming out at a lease end. All three are the same job to us — the difference is only how many people we send and whether the building needs a survey first.

What counts as a computer here

  • Desktop PCs — Dell OptiPlex, HP EliteDesk and ProDesk, Lenovo ThinkCentre
  • All-in-ones and small form factor machines
  • Workstations — Dell Precision, HP Z-series, Lenovo ThinkStation
  • Thin clients and mini PCs
  • Monitors, docking stations, keyboards and peripherals
  • The loose drives, RAM and cards that come out of them

Laptops have their own page — see laptop disposal in London — but there is no need to separate them before we arrive. One collection takes the lot.

What happens to the hard drives

This is the only part of computer disposal that carries real risk, and it is where most of the cost of doing it properly sits.

Erased to NIST 800-88, or destroyed

Every drive is sanitised to NIST 800-88 Purge. Drives that fail the erasure — and in any batch of older desktops a few always do — are physically destroyed instead, and that is recorded rather than quietly skipped.

One certificate line per machine

You receive a certificate listing make, model and serial for every device, the method applied, and the date. Not a single letter saying the collection was processed: a line per machine, which is what satisfies an ICO question or an insurer.

You do not need to wipe anything first

People often ask whether they should run a wipe before we collect. You can, but there is no benefit — our erasure is logged and certified, and yours would not be. If a machine will not boot, that is fine too. We handle the drive directly.

What you get paid for

Free collection and a rebate are not alternatives. Everything is graded; you are paid for what sells and the rest is taken at no cost.

EquipmentTypical outcome
Desktops and SFF, i5 8th gen or newerRebate paid per unit
Workstations with discrete GPUPriced by component
All-in-ones, four years or newerRebate paid per unit
Monitors, docks, peripheralsCollected free
Pre-2018 or failed machinesCollected free, WEEE processed

Valuation is itemised per device rather than a lump sum for the pallet, and the rebate is paid after testing rather than promised against it.

Collecting computers in London

Desktops are heavier and bulkier than laptops, which makes the building the hard part, not the equipment.

Loading bay windows

Tell us the restriction and we crew for it. Forty desktops out of a thirty-minute bay slot needs three people and cages, not one van.

Goods lift booking

Most City and Canary Wharf buildings need the lift reserved and the crew pre-registered. Give us the building manager and we arrange it.

ULEZ and Congestion Charge

Compliant vehicles, and the charges are ours. They never reach you because there is no invoice.

Out of hours

Evenings and weekends at no surcharge where the floor is live or the building insists.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you havePostcode, rough count, any building constraints.
  2. We confirm a slotSame working day. Over about fifty machines we will suggest a free site survey first.
  3. We collectOur own crew and vehicles. Manifest signed before anything leaves your floor.
  4. Erasure and gradingEvery drive sanitised, every machine tested and graded.
  5. Paperwork and paymentCertificates, asset register and WEEE transfer note inside five working days.

Why desktops are worth more than people expect

The assumption behind most disposal quotes is that a four-year-old desktop is scrap. It usually is not. A business desktop built in 2021 or 2022 has an i5 or i7, 8–16GB of RAM and an SSD, and that specification still runs current software perfectly well. There is a large secondary market for exactly those machines — schools, charities, small businesses and the refurbishment trade all buy them.

What kills the value is not age, it is handling. Machines stacked loose in a cage arrive with bent I/O shields and cracked front bezels. Drives pulled and binned separately mean the unit can no longer be sold as complete. Equipment left in a damp basement for a year is worth a fraction of the same equipment collected the month it came out of service.

Two practical things make a real difference to what you get back. Collect sooner rather than later — value falls roughly every quarter the kit sits unused. And leave the machines intact; we would rather erase the drive in situ than have it removed and handed to us in a jiffy bag.

What we do not take

CRT monitors, domestic white goods, furniture and general office waste are outside our licence. If a clearance includes those we will say so up front rather than turn up and leave half of it behind.

Computer disposal in London — common questions

Is computer disposal really free in London?

Yes. No collection charge, no minimum quantity, no congestion or ULEZ surcharge. Where machines have resale value we pay you on top.

How many computers do I need before you will come?

One. A single business desktop is collected on the same terms as a whole floor.

Do you take monitors and peripherals too?

Yes, and there is no need to separate them. Monitors, docks, keyboards, mice and cabling all go in the same collection.

What if the computers do not switch on?

Collected free and handled the same way. Drives that cannot be erased are physically destroyed and the certificate records that method rather than claiming an erasure that did not happen.

How quickly can you collect?

Same working day response, and most London collections are booked inside forty-eight hours. Working to a handover date? Say so and we work backwards from it.

What paperwork do I get?

A per-device erasure or destruction certificate by serial number, an itemised asset register reconciled to the signed manifest, and a WEEE transfer note.
