Laptop disposal London businesses can book the same day
Laptops are the one category where disposal and value recovery genuinely overlap, and where the gap between providers is widest.
A three-year-old business laptop — a ThinkPad T-series, a Latitude 5000, an EliteBook, a Surface — is not scrap. It has an i5 or i7, 8 to 16GB of RAM and an NVMe drive, and there is a deep secondary market for exactly that machine. Collected intact and graded properly it is worth real money. Collected loose in a cage with the screens scratched, it is worth very little.
So the question to ask any laptop disposal company in London is not whether collection is free — everyone says yes — but what they will pay, how they arrive at the figure, and whether you see it per device or as one number for the pile.
What we collect
- Business laptops — Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell Latitude and XPS, HP EliteBook and ProBook
- Microsoft Surface Pro, Surface Laptop and Surface Book
- MacBook Air and MacBook Pro
- Chromebooks and education fleets
- Docking stations, chargers, laptop bags and peripherals
- Loose drives and RAM removed from machines
Desktops and workstations have their own page — see computer disposal in London — but one collection takes everything, so there is no need to split them.
What we pay, and how we work it out
Every machine is tested and graded before a figure is given. There is no estimate-then-reduce.
| Laptop | Typical outcome |
|---|---|
| i5/i7 8th gen or newer, 8GB+, SSD | Rebate paid per unit |
| Surface and MacBook, four years or newer | Rebate paid per unit |
| Working but older, or 4GB RAM | Nominal value, graded case by case |
| Cracked screen, no battery, failed board | Collected free, parts recovered |
| Chargers, docks, bags | Collected free |
Three things that change the number
Timing. Laptop values fall roughly every quarter. A fleet collected the month it comes out of service is worth meaningfully more than the same fleet collected a year later from a store cupboard.
Completeness. Machines with their chargers, with drives still in them, and without asset-tag residue grade higher. We would rather erase the drive ourselves than receive the laptop with an empty bay.
Uniformity. Forty identical Latitudes are worth more per unit than forty different models, because they can be sold as a lot. If you are refreshing in waves, one collection at the end beats four small ones.
The data on the drive
Laptops carry more live data than any other category, because they go home with people. That is the risk and it is what the process is built around.
NIST 800-88, certified by serial
Every drive is sanitised to NIST 800-88 Purge. Drives that fail are physically destroyed instead, and the certificate records which method was used for each device rather than asserting a blanket erasure.
Encrypted and BitLocker machines
Encryption is not a substitute for sanitisation and we do not treat it as one. Encrypted drives are erased on the same standard, which means you do not need to hunt for recovery keys before collection.
Chain of custody
A manifest is signed at your premises before anything leaves. The asset register you receive reconciles line by line to it, so the count that left the floor is the count that was processed. For a laptop fleet, where units can go missing between a desk and a van, that reconciliation is the control that matters.
Collecting laptops across London
Desk-by-desk collection
Where machines are still at desks rather than boxed, we can collect from the floor. Tell us on the form and we send an extra pair of hands.
Staff returns
Hybrid teams mean laptops come back in dribs and drabs. We can hold a collection open across a fortnight rather than making you store them.
Building access
Lift booking, loading bay windows and crew pre-registration handled with your building manager.
ULEZ and Congestion Charge
Compliant vehicles, charges absorbed. Nothing reaches your invoice because there is not one.

Laptop disposal in London — common questions
Do you pay for laptops or just take them away?
Both. Machines with resale value are paid for, itemised per unit after testing. Everything else is collected free. You do not choose between the two.
Is there a minimum number?
No. A single business laptop is collected on the same terms as a fleet of five hundred.
Should I wipe them before you collect?
No need, and we would rather you did not. Our erasure is logged and certified per serial number; a wipe you run yourself is not, and it will not satisfy an auditor.
What about laptops with cracked screens or no battery?
Collected free. Parts are recovered and the drive is destroyed rather than erased, which the certificate records.
Can you collect from multiple London offices?
Yes. Multi-site collections are scheduled together and reported on one consolidated asset register, which is usually what finance wants rather than five separate ones.
How fast can you get to us?
Same working day response and most London collections are booked inside forty-eight hours.
