Privacy Notice
This notice explains what we do with personal data you give us through this website. It covers enquiries only — the separate question of data on equipment we collect is dealt with under “Data on collected equipment” below.
Last updated 12 October 2026.

What we collect, and why
| Data | Why we hold it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Company name, your name, phone, email | To reply to your enquiry and arrange a collection | Legitimate interests |
| Collection postcode and item count | To route a vehicle and crew, and to price any rebate | Legitimate interests |
| Your message | To understand what equipment you have | Legitimate interests |
| Click identifier (gclid / msclkid) | To know which advert produced the enquiry | Consent, via cookie |
| IP address, browser user agent, timestamp | To detect and block automated spam submissions | Legitimate interests |
We do not ask for, and have no use for, special category data. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your enquiry details to market unrelated services.
Advertising and measurement cookies
We advertise on Google and Microsoft search. When you arrive from an advert the URL carries a click identifier, which we store in a first-party cookie (lir_gclid or lir_msclkid) for up to 90 days and attach to your enquiry if you submit the form. That is how we know which keyword produced a real collection rather than just a click.
We also load Google’s tag, which sets its own cookies. If a collection is later booked we may upload the click identifier back to Google or Microsoft so the advert can be credited. We never upload your name, email, phone or postcode as part of that.
You can block or clear these cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so does not affect your enquiry or anything we do for you — it only makes our advertising reporting less accurate.
Data on collected equipment
This is separate from the website. Where we collect IT equipment, any data still on it is sanitised to NIST 800-88 Purge standard, or the device is physically destroyed where erasure fails. We do not read, copy, index or retain the contents of drives we process. We record only the make, model and serial number of each device, the sanitisation method applied and the date, which is what appears on your certificate and asset register.
Those device records are retained for six years so that we can re-issue a certificate if your auditor, insurer or the ICO asks for one.
How long we keep enquiry data
- Enquiries that do not become collections — 24 months, then deleted.
- Enquiries that become collections — 6 years from the end of the relevant financial year, to meet HMRC and waste-carrier record-keeping duties.
- Click identifiers — 90 days, the maximum window in which an advertising platform will accept them.
Who we share it with
Only where we have to: our hosting provider, which stores the enquiry on our behalf; our email provider; Google and Microsoft, where a click identifier is uploaded to credit an advert; our accountants and, if required, HMRC or the Environment Agency. We do not transfer enquiry data outside the UK or EEA except where Google or Microsoft do so under their own standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict how we use it. Where we rely on consent — which is only the advertising cookies — you can withdraw it by clearing the cookie.
Email hello@londonitrecycling.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
